Dr. (Mrs.) Augustina O. Buzugbe, the Director/Principal of Federal Government College Ikirun, Osun state has been awarded the Excellence Leadership Award for 2023/2024 by the Legislative Writers Forum, National Assembly in Abuja. The award was presented to Dr. (Mrs.) Augustina O. Buzugbe in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the upliftment of the College.
Mr. Abraham Ogwaje, the Organising Secretary of the forum, praised Dr. Augustina O. Buzugbe for her achievements since she assumed office as the Director/Principal of the College. He highlighted the College’s successes in academics, sports, and Robotics Competitions. The College Robotics team represented Nigeria in Rwanda and emerged as the International Champion among other teams from various African countries.
Moreso, he commended the College for the improved performances of students in external examinations like BECE, WAEC, NECO, and JAMB. In his own words, “there has been tremendous improvement in the tone of discipline under her leadership.” He also noted the positive working environment she has fostered between the management and staff of the College.
In her acceptance speech, Dr. (Mrs.) Augustina O. Buzugbe credited the success of the College to the teamwork, dedication, and support of the entire members of staff. She expressed gratitude to the Almighty God and the Federal Ministry of Education for the opportunity given her to lead the institution. She vowed to continue adding value to the College.
Dr. (Mrs.) A.O. Buzugbe emphasized her commitment to the course of moving the college to greater heights and expressed confidence in the capable hands working alongside her to achieve the vision and mission statement of the College. The award is a testament to her dedication and leadership excellence which serves as a motivation for her to further improve the institution for the benefit of the students and the community.
